We have a group of 8 people in my group at this point. Everyone has four-day passes, or intends to get them soon.
We're staying at the WESTIN BONAVENTURE HOTEL.
Four girls, including myself, are staying in my room, while the other four boys are in another.
Girls Room Dana Joyce Jodi Maricela
Boys Room Alanso Jaime Patrick Adam
With the way we'd looked at it, it was $154 a night for four adults. We're staying five days, checking in on Wednesday, July 2nd, the day before the expo begins, so we can settle pre-registration, and checking out on Monday, July 7th, the day after the expo is over.
This was my math for one room's rate.
($154 a night) x (5 nights) = $770
($770 room rate) x (14% tax) = $107.80
($770 room rate) + ($107.80 tax) = $877.80
($877.80 total room rate) / (four people) = $219.45 (a person for the whole stay)
Well, those were my calculations.
And, according to Joyce, there are shuttles provided by the hotels between the hotel you're staying at and the convention center that leave and return every fifteen minutes, so you don't have to worry about parking, which was my concern.
Anyone that wants to join us in that hotel is welcome to join the group.
I should have a few friends from my high school meeting up with the group, since they aren't staying through housing, but they'll be cosplaying and having a good time with us.

For our group, it looks like we're having a Gintama cosplay group for half the time (I'll be sporting the Gintoki getup), and Ranma 1/2 (where I'll be Shampoo).

Okay, Joyce? You said that you planned to take off early. I'll see what I can do about editing the reservation so you can stay the amount of days you want to, and then decreasing the reservation to three people for those days that you're not going to be there.
But I forgot the reason. Why aren't you staying Sunday? It's vacation, come on. ><
I'd really like to not have to do that, though, if you think you can possibly stay Sunday (since you also spent the money for a four-day pass) since it'll mean more for Maricela, Jodi, and I to pay for three people in the room, since we'll be splitting it three ways, not four. (That's kinda unfair to us, you know?) Unless you find someone who wants to stay in just for Sunday. I'll browse through my friends that are going, but as far as I know, none of the people that I'm meeting up with have any intention of staying in a hotel (or more their parents, or their financial situation) , even if it's with other girls.
But, lemme know the situation, and I'll see what I can do with it, Joyce.

@ Dana= I am probably leaving early but i will be paying my share for the whole thing ^^;; I never really intended for you to go through the trouble to re-caculate everything~
i have a question though, how's our status for the room? last time we were waitlisted for sunday.

We're still waitlisted, and I check on it about every other day. It says that once we're confirmed (and it assures there's a high chance of getting in), I'll get another confirmation email. And I check my email several times daily, so I won't miss it. I'll let you know as soon as that comes.
Thanx, Joyce!

Okay, for those of you going in my group, I don't think anyone with the exception of myself has a license. I don't own my own car, either. I can't borrow my parent's car for the entire stay, since we'll need to get things up and down. Even though I'm closer than you guys in relation to the convention center, I can't have my parents on call if we have an emergency, that's not fair to them.
If someone else has a car or a license, please, let me know. If that's not readily available, I have an idea--
Okay, scratch that.
I looked at Enterprise, but they can't let me rent because I'm in the 18-20 age group. Apparently, we're not trusted with rentals.
So, I'm still running some ideas past my parents.
Option One: I'll rent a car for my father, so it's under him. That means I get my dad's car, to be able to transport people in two groups. But, my mother doesn't like the idea. I'll discuss it more with my parents.
Option Two: We take a taxi anywhere we need to go, which gets expensive.
We could try taking it to the metro when we get there, or get a bus route there, then take a taxi to the hotel, and any places we need to go to get food or supplies.
Either one, we'll need to pay for. With dad's car, we'll need gas, or we'll need to split the taxi fare.
I dunno what you guys want to do, but those are my ideas.
I'll look and see what bus routes I can find around LA.

I say to get to AX we all meet at the metrolink station, then take bus or something to the hotel, i think mari knows the area pretty well or also our dear friend shrek is also coming and he lived in LA before and frequently took the bus so i don't think we'll have trouble with the transportation.

Okay, then we'll look at the buses.
But what about getting around for food? And as well as I remember, you guys aren't very close to any of the tracks.
I think I know a way to get there by bus, however.
I'll have to do a little more research and get back to you.
Joyce, did you want to have another meeting with our group this week, before school starts? Or, even, during the first week of school? If we do it within the next two weeks, Pat doesn't have school, so I can bring him.

I don't really know too much about the layout of LA, but I think its possible to get to the hotel by buses and trains. There seems to be train stations outside of LA, such as the one in Orange. Now, its safe to say that this WILL take a long time, so you guys really should try and get a car. I had looked into this before, cause there was an event in LA that I wanted to go to. The first part of the trip started off with buses, then I think there was a 40 minute walk to the train station, take the train for a little bit, and then the last part was a short walk to the basketball arena. In total, what would have taken 30 minutes by car, would take 3 HOURS by bus/train. I ended up not going to that event.
Another thing I have to warn you guys about is that you may have to make bus transfers in unsafe areas, so keep that in mind too.

Hey, Joyce. I've been trying for the past few days to get through on the phone line, and I'll say I'm kinda sick of being put on hold.
I'd probably say we're best off editing the reservation, staying at the Westin Wednesday-Saturday. If we need to, we can book another hotel room for the other two days, or all come up and back separately, if you want to work it that way.

Looks like it might be $175 per person for our hotel room all together now.
We've edited the reservations to Wed-Saturday, and everybody can find their own way up on Sunday. If we need to check out midday on Saturday, we can try and leave all the luggage in the cars (since Adam and I should both be driving) until we get metro/bus figured out.
So, per person for four days should be $175 each, with tax factored in.
AND OUR RESERVATION HAS BEEN CONFIRMED!! FINALLY!
Looks like they're going to have us pay when we get to the hotel. Mmkaaaaay?
